My Wellness Fasting over 72 hours: 02-03-2019

Good Morning!!

Things I’ve forgotten to mention so far in this Blog:

My Weight:  this morning:  223 .6lbs, a loss of almost 13 lbs in 3 days. I hope its mostly fat.

Supplements: Flex, Biocharge, Catalyst, Fish oil, Krill oil, Milk Thistle, I take all these before my workout, typically in the morning except the Biocharge that I take about every four hours to suppress hunger and protein breakdown. The Milk thistle just once a day to help the liver process all the toxins my body is releasing from its fat stores. I also take an Advocare multivitamin in the morning. I take a tumeric supplement KANGEN UKON GOLD TUMERIC, a superior antioxidant, before bed with 2.5 grams of NOW brand ZMA (zinc magnesium aspartate) to help muscle recovery.

4:05 am: WAKE UP! No hunger! This is my usual wake up time to go workout during the week; one minute before my alarm is set for 4:06 am. I hate alarms. Since its the weekend I decided to sleep in a bit like yesterday. No real joint pain except left ring finger which is chronic arthritis. I woke up thirsty so I pounded 12 oz of water. I’ve forgotten to mention water intake specifically in the previous blogs. The medical community (The Mayo Clinic, NAM, etc.) recommends letting thirst guide your water consumption habits but set an volume of daily water intake at 3.7 liters (about 15 cups) for most adult men and 2.7 liters (11 cups) for most adult women. Urine should be clear or a light straw color. If its dark, drink more water. Drink more if you’re thirsty or very active. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!!

6:14 am:  Absolutely no hunger. Finally got up made coffee for the family. Read. Stretches.

7:10 am: Drank a cup of coffee that did not trigger hunger….

8:00 am: I’m at the office for paperwork, UGG!.Going to workout in a bit.

9:05 am: Sports Core workout facility in Kohler, WI. Light chest workout today (that I should have done yesterday, btw). Then steam room after.

9:38 am: Serious first hunger of the day after 20 minutes of moderate cardio on an elliptical machine. Rest, stretch and drink water.

10:00 am to 11:10:  Performed 10-12 reps of every set up to 225 lbs for bench and accessories also high reps and low weight. Drink water and BIOCHARGE during workout.

11:15 am. :  15 to 20 minutes of the steam room. Drink 32 oz during the steam session. Mildly buzzed. No headaches so far today.

11:45. : Went grocery shopping per Jenny’s request. I thought this was going to be a painfull excercise but wasn’t too bad. Food had been a hunger trigger the first two days of the fast but not so much today, probably because the food isn’t prepared much and I hurried. I hurried so much that I forgot the sugar and ice cream.

1:00 pm: Drove my son to basketball practice and helped clean the house for an exchange student audit. We are going to host a girl from Sweden next year and someone is coming over at 3:30 to inspect us and the house. Drink water with BIOCHARGE.

2:15- 3:15 pm.:  Tried to take a nap but I wasn’t very tired but I thought I should. Joints feel amazing and feet are barely numb. Drink water.

3:30 pm : Interview for exchange student went well but long. Didn’t end until almost 5:00 pm.

5:00-6:00 pm:  Jenny and I took a long walk with our dog Luna. Foggy outside but warm! (over 40 degrees). VERY HUNGRY in waves since 3:38 until the end of the walk. This was to be expected as this is a normal eating time for us and its when most people’s ghrelin hormone kicks in making you hungry; it usually increases between 10:00 am till noon and again 3:30 ish to 5:30 ish. Ghrelin levels lower more and more as you fast for longer periods of time. Here is a brief video that does a nice job with hunger hormones:

6:00 pm: Dinner time, so I had to get out of Dodge. I went to the office to blog this afternoon’s activities and do paperwork. No hunger.

Not nearly as bad as days 1 and 2. Food is much less of a hunger trigger today. Buzzy feeling only occurs after working out or when workout gets intense. No headaches at all today and hunger was limited to two brief periods. Joints feel great and numb feet are barely numb. Drinking just over a gallon of water a day (18 cups ish). I feel better overall and energy was much improved this third day over the other days. Deciding to transition to a Paleo/Keto diet or an Intermittent Fasting Diet hereafter. Either way I want to keep the fat off and keep picking away at it until I’m around 15% body fat.

7:17 pm: Have a great night. Bedtime around 10:00 or 10:30pm. Looks like a lame SuperBowl. I hope the second half is better!
